Dreamweaver Helpful For Your Career

DreamWeaver is a program in which a person can make a website. This is done through syncing, and coding. Coding a website is not easy at all and people of this profession should have the respect of everyone. The website itself is a great way to promote yourself, some people are apprehensive to their work in a public setting. This is program is a great start for people without them stepping out of their comfort zones.

The website can be used to promote a person's work, it uses links to your work. When a person goes into an interview, they usually bring a resume. What this website does is it gives a person an advantage on the competition. It does this by instead of just having a resume, they have a website showing their best, or most prestigious work. Employers will see the time and effort it took to complete this, and it will help them get the job. The website also shows that you are not just a one-trick pony, based on what people put in their portfolio, the portfolio can show a wide variety of work which shows what the person is capable of.

The Social Media projects completed in class tie-in with the website because it shows your work on the social media site. What helps this is the contact page, bio, and portfolio all have the social media icon. The viewers of the website can click on the selected icon and it then brings them to the selected website. If it were on one part of the website it would not be that big of a deal, but the fact that it is on every page at the bottom of the screen makes it more accessible. This helps people see the person in a different light, of course make sure the content on the social media outlets is something you don’t mind others seeing.

Pdf's Photoshop, and Web Ready photographs are just a couple of the things that go into the making of a website. A person has to think of the right photo to put as their profile, and layout picture. This is important because it is the first glimpse of the website. In terms of the documents the work that goes into it many have no idea about. Working with software such as Photoshop, and adobe is not very hard but it is tedious. While the process itself does not take long the person has to make sure the file is not too large to open up on the website. Therefore they have to make it fit to the web on some websites people will see a photo buffering to open this is due to the reasoning that the photo is not fir for the web. The person did not either have the right resolution, or width and length of the document.

The overall presentation and organizing content are very important as to how people will view the site. Meaning if the website has documents that are of all shapes and sizes on the portfolio the person may think they rushed the presentation. The most impressive things about making the website is the portfolio page while the page only shows a glimpse of the work. It links to the pdf where viewers can see the whole paper, photograph or PowerPoint. This is an outside of the box presentation because it shows your work not just a snippet. The Bio page shows who the person is, and how they want people to view them, their goals, and what they have accomplished.

In order to get a job in this day and age people have to think one step ahead of their competition. Making a website is the first step in doing this, and it will help the person immensely in the future.

Twitter=the future

In this day and age of social media their people say their opinions on things no matter the place nor the time. One outlet that is instantaneous with this it is Twitter, while it has helped make people famous for very dumb reasons. It also has a way of bringing people together in the midst of tragedy. One thing it has done for bands, sporting events, and politicians is it is used as for marketing, and get people’s names out there for the public’s view.

With that said the way marketing has been used for celebrities, and companies in regards to Twitter is amazing. Businesses who do not normally have social media, only have a Twitter because people use it more than any other social media. It also brings different deals to restaurants such as restaurant week here in Buffalo. Restaurant week is a week in which different restaurants around the area have meals for $20.00. While this was known because of the restaurants putting this in the paper, they used twitter to broaden their audience, and get the word out faster. Another way the social media form has used marketing was, their is a local group of Bills fans who came together to form the #BillsMafia. Now this may seem like a silly idea for NFL fans, but this started as just a hashtag amongst bills fans, its creator noticed this and started a group, where there were contest giveaways, they helped local non for profits in any way they could, and also were the most hardcore fans of the team. It truly is insane how something that started as a hashtag built into something as big as this group, this was all because of how the brand marketed itself.

Twitter can be used as a journalistic, political, and organizational tool in ways that other social media forms cannot. Meaning that part of journalism is getting information to the people in the most factual fastest way possible. Twitter has done this, by posting a link to the article in the form of a tweet. The person therefore can go to the article and read it, because the younger generation is not likely to go to the CNN website, what is also amazing on Twitter is how everyday subscribers can interact with journalists. This has not always been the case, as famous people often ignore fans this has changed the game.

With the campaigns being in full force candidates have gone to great lengths to get their ideas to as many people as possible, Bernie Sanders who has been gaining support like wildfire has done used Twitter in this way and is gaining momentum. Many people did not know the values and the things that this man stood for, it was from the use of Twitter that many got their information and based there stance based off of that.

   1. While many people joke about the WWE saying it is fake and what not its marketing strategy is second to none reaching over 60 countries. Recently the World Wrestling Entertainment launched its Superbowl in WrestleMania on April 3rd, it was the most talked about event in history on Twitter, This helped the company develop a fan base, and it was an exceptional way of fans coming together for a common interest. for months prior they wanted to get as many people watching as possible offering this for free (usually 69.00) simply by going to the network and using the hashtag #FreeWrestlemania.

2. Another event that Twitter helped or hurt was, the bombings of London. This was a very tragic day in the world and the outpouring of support for the people of France was overwhelming. People can have their profile picture as the French Flag, with themselves in the background. Twitter was the where the news broke, every hour on the hour people were looking on this for new information on the tragedy. It showed buildings around the world being lit up with the colors of the French Flag, it makes one wonder just how much of an impact it would have had, had it been around during 9/11.

3. The final event while being about an event was about more in Race. The Oscars is a movie award show that gives awards to films in the past year. One problem that many African Americans saw with the nominations was the lack of blacks. This lead to an uproar from African American film stars. They got their message across by boycotting the award show itself. They also used a #OscarssoWhite, they did this to get people aware of the problem. Had Twitter not been around for this the public would have not known about how angry this made people.

The three people I followed on Twitter were 1. Taylor Swift 2. UFC 3. Conan O' Brien

Starting off with Taylor Swift I chose this due to the fact that this is not my style of music particularly and thought it would be interesting to see how she is in everyday life. Also her fame is huge in the U.S and is a pop culture phenomenon

Next I followed the Ultimate Fighting Championship because I am a fan of them. While I enjoy WWE more, a lot of friends love this and the UFC or Mixed Martial Arts was just legalized in the state of New York. Therefore I followed them to see what new was happening in the sport.

Finally I followed Conan O'Brien this man is hilarious and I heard his tweets have shown that. Recently I saw a video with Conan playing video games with sports celebrities and found it hilarious so from there I realized what all of the hype was about with his comedy.

This experience of using Twitter differed from blogging because while blogging helps you get your opinions out there. Twitter is more instant, and more people can have an opinion on things it just reaches a broader audience. As far as this differentiating from other forms of social media such as Instagram, or Facebook, I feel like Twitter is the go to as of right now. More people are on Twitter, some peoples Facebook just have articles linked to the celebrity, as where Twitter is actually the person saying what they feel no matter the backlash.

Video= Success

The project in which was just completed took planning, and a certain level of skill when pertaining to the cameramen. While editing was a big aspect of the video what was more of an importance was the people in the various groups going out of there comfort zones. Each group had to do this one way or another, while showing some individuality, in the self- portrait part of the video the groups also had to put this same content in the group video, which was challenging for one group in particular in politics.  The word politics can mean many things, mostly people think of republicans, and democrats, but it is more than that. The group had the subjects meet others at a coffee shop, at a gym, on campus , and at a bar. Each of these examples show just how easy it is to strike up a conversation with someone and the video showed that.
.  Some of the problems that occurred during the process were the landscape mode. For some reason or another phones that are HTC ones at times do not access landscape style the right way. When the camera is clearly horizontal the net day upon opening the video it came up vertically, luckily for people with this problem there is a way in a program called Imovie to flip the video, which was a lifesaver in this case. Another problem in which occurred was that the camera turned purple when filming at night. The camera worked well in general during the day, but as soon as it hit the wrong lighting, purple it went. This was frustrating because the group had the task of meeting people and the politics of that. The group was dedicated to accomplishing the task at hand and when problems like this occurred instead of freaking out, and over exaggerating they instead thought of a different place to shoot that would work out for everyone.
As far as the editing of the Imovie editing itself, the struggle was alot worse than originally thought because of the lack of knowledge people may have. Not having a background knowledge of this program, really made it a difficult process. It would have been nice having a day in class in which the program was taught, instead we had to learn it on the fly which was frustrating for more than one group members. Posting the video did not prove to be difficult as a certain group member knew how to break everything down to show how it was done.If this group member had been in another group the politics group would have probably been in trouble. Make sure the file is not too large that is why a flash drive with alot of space is needed.
People should use videos to communicate different messages, this is opposed to writing or still photos. Videos are a first hand look at what is going on with movement. If people can see it happening it sticks with them more vividly, especially with audio it puts more of an emphasis on the subject matter. Perfect example is a video the class was presented  in class showed the aspect of time. If the group had just written about what we do with our time it would have been boring. Also if they just showed a picture of a clock not much excitement would be there. Instead of going these routes the visual video worked perfectly to ensure what they wanted to portray. In the video they had examples of figgiting, clocking in and out of work, the use of the different clocks emphasized the passing of time very well. Seeing the movements of the happening will resonate with classmates more than other aspects of visual communication.

The public nature of the video affected the groups subject matter for sure. The reasoning behind this is that the group had to put themselves out there in order to get a good grade and get the notion across that these are the politics of meeting new people. This differed from other groups because we has the unfortunate task of going up to people whom we have never been in contact with, and none the less with someone behind the person with a camera just to make things more awkward. Again differing from other groups because all other groups put it as if it looked as if one person shot the entire video. The politics group instead broke it up to individually how they met the person. This breaking up of the videos to the individual, showed the person more than maybe other groups because this group did it in order as they met the people.
This problem should have gone in the struggles section but if someone needs to use vine it is only accessible through your phone. Meaning using Imovie the student must cut down the video to six seconds, which looks easy but is to many a struggle. The group that had politics had an easy task when using Vine because they put everyone they met and that made up for the six seconds that was needed, for other groups if may have been a struggle due to them not knowing what subject matter to put into the video.

The thing that helped the politics group was that the self-portrait video was  also in the group video. When people think of politics they do not think of meeting people. Politics and meeting people who knew they were even relate to each other. the politics group picked a topic which was not easy, others in the group were apprehensive at first. While that ended the apprehension the group ended up enjoying it and meeting new people.  As far as uploading the videos it was not a problem.

Overall all the groups are thankful for the video being over. It taught the groups how to work with a new program which many were not familiar with. As well as how to shoot video and be proud of the work they have done, while this gave many students anxiety it was worth it in the end.  The thing that will stick with the politics group was how excited the cameramen were to see how the events were going to unfold.

WikiHow How to

There are many videos on YouTube, and other social media sites to help people on how to do things. What people may not realize is the easiest way  people to figure our how to is through a webite called WikiHow. Wikihow is just that it literally shows you how to do anything and everything.Making a Wiki is very simple and can be very entertaining if the person who is creating the Wiki has passion behind it and wants to do whatever they can to help others.
While this is a step by step instructional pictorial with descriptions people have to be creative in how they create the message they are trying to convey. Throughout this process many will run into complications not only with the content but also in their mind's themselves. For one you can not duplicate another person's how to so people have to truly think long and hard about the topic they want to choose. What helps a lot of people in creating a WikiHow is to look up other how tos that pertain to the idea they have for example if you want to do a WikiHow on how to be a good Buffalo Bills fan you can search it in the search engine of the website. The results will be How to Be a Good Green Bay Packers Fan is the first one that appears. While reading through it one must use these similar ideas as an outline, but they have to be as descriptive as possible, but also as interesting as possible. It would make for a nice touch if some humor was involved in some of the descriptions to make it more appealing.
WikiHow has a very strict policy on copyright, and pictures be careful to abide by the rules of the website to further any other wrongdoings. This adds intrigue to the Wiki and people who will view the page like pictures. With that said the visualizations must directly pertain to the description, for example if a creator of a page is making a recipe with eggs, and they put a pictures of bacon it does not make sense. So make sure the description corresponds with the picture. an old saying goes " People eat with their eyes" well this is true in this environment also. Meaning if people see pictures before they see words they are almost destined to continue reading the article.
With the step by step instruction you must make sure you know every aspect of the how to if you are shaky about the information, think of another idea. A must to remember is that there will be times where it seems as though you are not getting anywhere with your article, that is why you should try to have a guide in which you follow. For instance one day do all of the steps, next pictures, net tips and warnings, etc. With that said you should try to stay away from making this personal, it must be objective. Because if the descriptions on the steps are too personal it just shows your personal beliefs not guiding people on how to.
One thing the WikiHow does is it promotes its own website with in most of the Wiki-hows like previously mentioned you can have an internal link and as the reader you can click on the word and it take you to another how to based on that information. For example if you are doing again a "How to Be a Good Bills Fan" and one of your steps is tailgate and people may not know what that may be, they can click on the word tailgate. This will then take you to a Wiki-How on how to throw a tailgate party. This feature helps readers of all ages. Due to the fact that it helps them with other words they may not be accustomed too, plus once they understand this that will then help you with your article because they now understand it better.
With that said in this process you have to remember that this is going to be hopefully published on the website therefore everyone who has a computer can access this. That means while writing this keep in mind people from all walks of life, all forms of education will be looking and possibly editing your article. That is why you have to keep it dimmed down so to speak. While this may be a complicated process explain it as if the person was a child so it could be understood by everyone.
In all honesty people who are fans of the National Football League should go to WikiHow and see the how to on how to be a Buffalo Bills fan. The reasoning is that people outside of Buffalo tend to laugh at bills fans because of the playoff drought and them appearing in four consecutive super bowls and not coming up on the winning side. This particular Wiki shows just how much pride the people of Buffalo have in there team, also it shows people how to be loyal and not give up when things do not go your way. This WikiHow shows dedication, one particular component in this how to is when saying to attend a game
Whether you want to bake a cake, start a fantasy football league, change a spare tire, whatever the case may be WikiHow is the place for you. While the process may be tedious it helps people and you can be proud to help another person who may be frustrated by not knowing how to do something and that is the best feeling people can have.
its crazy how far the WikiHow process has become because if you are having trouble collaborating and figuring out how to do something on the website. They have a WikiHow about WikiHow, a must use for this is to use the help that is given to you with the advanced editing which is a lot more detailed use the editing help guide it will save a lot of headaches.
Overall the experience in creating a WikiHow can be frustrating, time consuming, but in the end it is mostly gratifying and that is why it was worth it.

Internet, World Wide Web Who knew There was a Difference??

Next Step in the WWW is computers knowing our thoughts

The internet has taken many steps since being introduced with web 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0. Each of which has its own advantages to the everyday users. The people whom started the Web did not know how to expand its horizons and make the Web interactive to its users. That is why looking back on the Web is so outdated, its like looking at a page and saying to yourself ok i have the information now what? What if i want to review something from this company? send them an email? buy something? none of this could be done with Web 1.0 enter Web 2.0. In my opinion Web 2.0 helps users be social and have their voices be heard. This is a Web in which we all can participate in as well as companies, it is not so static and boring so to speak. It does this in the form of Wiki's, social networking and etc, in today's society people want to have a say in everything and this is what in my opinion allows people to do, be more vocal. As opposed to looking at a website for example a blog is interactive and the maker of the blog puts the content on when they choose. This compares to originally with Web 1.0 by a blog was not created yet and the user would have to go to a personal page to access, and put out new information. Web 2.0 makes it a lot easier for everyone involved, basically it is more user friendly.
This leads to the next question what is Web 3.0? In my opinion this focuses more on the database itself. So many times people have tried to look something up for research and the database gives them a million pages some of which are helpful but a lot of them are pointless. You are in the limits of the computer, because their is so much information on the internet it can not decipher what exactly one wants to look up it just focuses on key words. People believe the video on YouTube explained it perfectly in simple words the change from web 2.0 to 3.0, it will go from passively helping to actively helping. the Web will depend more on the meaning of what is being searched  also known as semantics, as opposed to symentrics. The Web 2.0 did live up too the hype when it grew out of Web 1.0. Although it took a while for it to happen users can now use links, and websites as well as companies whom are asking for feedback and with Web 2.0 they can now receive that, through the means of a computer, and not just information.Web 2.0 has provided the World Wide Web with dynamic interactive pages, people can now read and write web and further their careers where you could not in Web 1.0. This is a positive thing for people all across the world.
The direction in which Web 3.0 will take us is the search engines, and things in which you search will be more direct, and detailed in its searches. It may take a while to happen with Web 3.0 but the fact that technologists want to connect people is an advantage in itself. This may take a long time to happen because the same exact thing happened with the transition from 1.0 to 2.0. So users might get frustrated with the process that is a negative effect 3.0 may have in the future.

Web 1.0-Web 3.0 How We Got This Far

When Web 1.0 was introduced it was new to many people technologists included, it was very simple basic information the bare minimum. Imagine a world where you could not type something into a search engine to help with basic information. That was what Web 1.0 was developers wanted in the worst way to engage the public in the information to get feedback, enter Web 2.0. Although it took many years to get to this point the public is extremely happy it got there. Users can now pinpoint what they want to do and now know where to get the information. While not always credible the information presented helps the everyday user.
Web 1.0 was an information based idea like a Brochure this was a huge step for businesses because it brought about a sense of exposure to it. Web 2.0 was known as the first real Web as many refer to it  brought about a sense of excitement because users can now interact with one another, and contribute to content where before it was just the businesses themselves. Web 3.0 differs from the other Web .0's because  the searching of information as opposed to the World Wide Web as a whole. Databases such as Google, Yahoo, Bing, sure help users but where is the principal of exact searches and not meaningless information. This will make searches clearer, and more exact.
It is amazing how far technology has come in the last 30 years. With all three of the Web .0's there is a distinctive function in which you can tell. This website is an example of what Web 2.0 has brought to us. The Evolution of Web 3.0 will bring us more things, but it is not much different from the Web we know now. What Web 2.0 does for example is the Website Pandora you can choose a station to the music that interests you. Another couple minutes go by and it says at the bottom of the screen recommended for you. This is based off of other users interests as well. sites such as Amazon, YouTube, and Spotify have used this idea to enhance the users experience and also get more buys, views, and listens. While this is a step in the right direction Web 3.0 will even further these ideas because it will now go through a series of machines or computers as opposed to people which will enhance results of what is being searched.
When people started the internet they had not known the possibliities. It is insane to think we are now focusing on people and their own preferences. As opposed to just the technology itself, in our lifetime one can only imagine what Web 4.0, and 5.0 will be like. Will it be pointless to even search, because the computer will already know what we want, we will see what the future holds for the internet. If people truely think about the possibilities of the Web the results may be frightening.

Buffalo Bills Wikihow

I decided to choose the wiki how on how to be a good Buffalo Bills fan. The Buffalo Bills are a team of the National Football League, from Buffalo New York. The Bills have not won a championship in their history, but are the only team to appear in 4 consecutive Superbowl's. While many who do not live in Buffalo tend to laugh at people who are Bills fans, they may not realize that the people of Western New York love there team no matter how much heartbreak they may cause them.People who are Bills fans are enthusiastic, loyal, and at times when it matters most dissapointed. Which is why you should continue to read this article on hoe to become a good Buffalo Bills fan.
Steps: Step 1 Talk to other Bills fans about why they like the team so much. This step will help in determining whether this team is right for you, in most cases the stories of Buffalo Bills fans are much different than other National Football teams.
Step 2- know the history of the team- You should know basic things about the Buffalo Bills especially during the " Glory Days" know players such as Thurman Thomas, Bruce Smith, Steve Tasker, and jim Kelly. As well as current knowledge such as who the teams head coach, and General Manager are. Current players such as Tyrod Taylor, and Lesean McCoy are essential names to know.

Step 3- Get Buffalo bills memorabilia- it shows a lot about the team in which you represent when you have a jersey. someone who is also a Bills fan, will show you respect if they see you in this, it shows loyalty to your team.
Step 4- Tailgate- Nothing is better than waking up early on a crisp Sunday morning, to see your favorite team play. The Buffalo bills were ranked the #1 tailgating experience by the Yahoo Sports! ESPN anchor Chris Berman says it is an essential part of the experience of going to a game. so bring a couple of friends, good food, a couple of adult beverages ( if you are of age), and enjoy the atmosphere with other Bills fans.
Step 4-Attend a game- going to a National Football League game is memorable no matter the team you are cheering for. People that attend a game at Ralph Wilson Stadium often want to go back for games again and again. It will show you are dedicated especially if it is in cold weather.
Step 5 be loyal- With being a bills fan at times comes with heart break, ok the team hasn't made the playoffs in 16 years this does not stop fans from going to the games. There will be times when you will be ecstatic after a huge win, or almost brought to tears after an excruciating loss. With every season ending comes a off-season, and each and every off season Bills fans often say " this is our year to finally make the playoffs"

WikiHow is a real thing?

Many people go to Wikipedia to get a starting point into research for a certain topic. Wiki-How is a website that can be useful on how to do things in everyday life, some people need help on certain tasks. This website helps people immensely with giving people an outline on "hot to do" certain things. If people are struggling with things the internet is a great starting point. With everything from how to tie a tie, to how to tailgate the correct way. Wiki-How is a great starting point for people who are not familiar with certain things.

Starting things off moonshine is very popular in the south, but not necessarily up north. People from the north should be familiar with the process because believe it or not it is part of the country's history. Many should also have a background knowledge and this article will not only have them make the moonshine, but also give them knowledge. People should know the proper ingredients it would take to make such a strong drink. It takes alot longer than many realize, the process starts with a certain type of liquor Everclear. From there it takes a certain amount of cinnamon and apple flavors to create the right taste. Overall the audience will know just how much goes into such an tasty end product.

The second topic would be how to do Be a Good Buffalo Bills Fan. The Buffalo Bills have had a rich, history in the National Football League. The people of Buffalo wear the team on their backs every Sunday. While many outside of the town focus on the snow, others know the city for the Bills. People should know the in the town what it means to be a Bills fan, but others may not. When the season starts everyone is a fan as the losses happen, the fans tend to get smaller and smaller. This will show how to stick to your team through the bad as well as the good times. A couple of steps this will include would be 1. Talk to others about why they like the team 2.Know the team's history 3. Attend a game.

Finally many people in the cooking industry all start somewhere, normally this is as a line cook. . While line cooks have a great amount of stress placed upon them on a daily basis, many do not know how to become better.Instead of learning more stations they become complacent and stick to one station because it's the norm. Step 1- excel at your station Step 2- look at other stations to see how others perform take mental notes Step 3- show a desire to learn.
While all of  these topics vary in terms of content they can be very helpful to people who need answers. Each and everyone can be very informative. No matter which one is chosen people will feel the need to learn the information one way or another.

Social Media: Productive or Destructive

Social media has been a topic of controversy in recent years, some think it is good, some bad. No matter your view on the subject one must admit it has changed vitally since its inception. It has changed since the days. It first started now you can have your address', phone number, and other sources of personal information. Another way it has changed is you can now tell the world what you are doing at the exact time you are doing it, as where before it was not an instant. I do believe in a sense that social media is intrusive, but this depends on the person if you do not want people to know what your doing do not put it on social media. If you have a job in which posting, or tweeting  may hurt you than it is in your best interest to not put it on these sites. There is also a responsibility in using social media, due to the reasoning that what one does on these websites reflects on them as a person. People  may or may not agree with what you as an individual post, but it is the responsibility of the person on what they put on their wall, or things like that.So every-time someone sends a tweet, or posts about something there is responsibility to that individual as to how they want to be perceived. While there is a lot of backlash concerning social media there is good that comes from this. Football player Devon Still formerly of the Cincinnati Bengals has a daughter that had pediatric cancer, he kept this as a secret for a good amount of time from the public. He finally broke the silence in form of posting videos to Facebook, and Instagram. This informed people about his daughter's medical problems, it was from there that everyone including celebrities, sports athletes, talk show hosts realized what he and his family had been going through.People from all walks of life did whatever they could in there power to help his daughter. People ended up raising money, and millions of people knew Leah's story simply with the hash-tag #LeahStrong. Social media played a role in the raising millions of dollars for pediatric cancer. While it must have very tough for Devon Still to go through this with his daughter, he had the support of millions of people just by a simple hash-tag. If it had not been for social media this secret would have never been known by the public. It just goes to show how fast news can spread over social media.I believe that social media will continue to grow, and head in the right direction. It is amazing how much people can help with a situation if given the right information. It seems as though everyone has a form of social media.Heck, even my grandparents have one. While we may not talk to them everyday it keeps them up to date with our lives.
